FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS
How early do I need to arrive for my appointment?
Arriving 10-15 minutes before your appointment will help complete the necessary paper work and allow the office staff enough time to check you in before your scheduled appointment time. Registration forms are available to print and fill out.
Can I be seen on the same day for an appointment?
If there are appointment times available you will be given an appointment on the same day. If these are taken you can still be seen as a walk in. We try our very best to accommodate same day appointments and walk-ins.
Can you be my PCP(Primary Care Physician)?
Yes. You will be given an appointment for an initial consultation. Dr. Abena Addo and Dr. Theophilus Addo are Board Certified Internal Medicine physicians. Your previous medical records including your current medication list will be required. Our Authorization to Release Medical Information form is available to print, fill out and send to your previous physician. Upon review of your records and after your initial visit, an appointment for a physical will be scheduled if necessary.
What insurances do you accept?
A list of insurances accepted is on our office page. We will need to check eligibility at the time of your visit and make sure you will be covered for services provided. If you have an HMO insurance you will need to make sure the provider you will be seeing is listed as your (PCP) or you have a referral from your PCP to see us.
Do you bill for co-payments and office visits?
We do not have billing services in the office. All co-payments, co-insurances, high deductible plan payments and private pay fees are due at the time of service. We do not bill for these.
Do I have to check in and wait to see the physician if I only need a lab test or a vaccination?
Yes. Every visit to the office has to be documented and needs a new encounter form. We are not a laboratory but offer laboratory services to our patients and cannot do any laboratory test or administer a vaccination without authorization from our physicians.
When does the physician call back when I leave a message during the day?
Physicians don't usually get to their messages until after office hours. Physicians see to patients who are in the office first and attend to phone messages after office hours. Physicians may not be able to return messages the same day.
Do you take care of patients with work related injuries?
We provide services for work related injuries however you need to notify your employer and have them obtain the necessary authorization and claim numbers from their insurance carrier prior to coming in.
Do you take care of patients requiring chronic pain medication?
We do not take over pain management of patients who are already on chronic pain medication. Patients in our practice who require chronic pain medication are referred to a pain management center where specialists work with us to offer patients the care they need.
